Job Description

MMP Consultancy are looking to recruit a Communications Officer to join a wonderful Local Authority in Essex on a temporary basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Point of contact for media inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Draft and distribute press releases, statements, and briefing notes to promote council initiatives and activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and national media outlets.
  • Monitor media coverage and produce regular reports on public and media sentiment.
  • Prepare and support spokespeople such as the Chief Executive, The Leader and members of the Cabinet, including providing briefing materials and advice for interviews.
  • Social media posts, ensuring they reflect the organisation's values and priorities.
  • Plan, create, and schedule engaging and relevant content across all platforms, including text, images, and video.
  • Respond to comments, messages, and queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor social media trends and analytics to measure engagement and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure alignment of social media messaging with broader council initiatives.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in communications, press relations, or a related field, ideally within a public sector organisation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences and channels.
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using communication tools, including content management systems, Microsoft 365, email marketing platforms, and social media scheduling software.
  • Creative flair and attention to detail, with the ability to produce high-quality content. Copywriting and editing.

£28000 - £30000.00 per annum

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in managing housing condition claims, including opening and maintaining case files.
  • Process legal documents, correspondence, and reports for solicitors, tenants, and contractors.
  • Monitor case progress to ensure compliance with statutory and court deadlines.
  • Liaise with tenants, contractors, and legal representatives to coordinate inspections, repairs, and case updates.
  • Maintain accurate records in housing management systems and produce reports as required.
  • Support the team in responding to legal queries and requests for information, ensuring adherence to data protection regulations.
  • Assist in preparing court documents and disclosures in line with the Pre-Action Protocol for Housing Condition Claims.
  • Coordinate meetings, take minutes, and follow up on action points.
  • Provide general administrative support, including, raising purchase orders, and maintaining filing systems.

What We're Looking For:

  • Prior experience gained within a repairs and maintenance environment (for a contractor, client or both) is essential.
  • Experience of working in Soft FM would be preferred.
  • IT literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams
  • Knowledge of MRI advantageous but not essential
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Customer focussed with the ability to use initiative to solve routine issues.
  • A collaborative approach, pro-active approach with the confidence and ability to communicate with key clients and customers.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Previous experience or internships in a similar role are a plus

list Resident Liaison Officer

Up to £27000.00 per annum

MMP Consultancy are looking to recruit a Resident Liaison Officer to join an excellent organisation in East London on a Permanent basis.

Responsibilities

  • Attend Resident Surgeries and assist vulnerable people reporting repairs, keep residents and scheme managers up to date on progress
  • Organise consultation events and attend meetings as required
  • Identify vulnerabilities relating to individual residents and liaise with client's housing officers or support services where necessary. Work with our Performance Team to ensure and identified vulnerabilities are accurately recorded within the organisations systems.
  • Investigate, register all complaints and report in accordance with company and client procedures. Ensure all MP, Councillor enquiries and complaints are investigated and resolved efficiently and within target and advising residents and clients of their outcomes

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with vulnerable residents and adapting style to meet the specific needs of individuals
  • Experience of working within a customer services environment is essential
  • Full Clean Driving license
  • Flexibility regarding travel and working at various sites, and attendance at evening meetings

Multi Trade Operative

Up to £24.24 per hour

Job Title: Multi-Trade Operative
Location: East London, Bow, Haringey, Islington, Tottenham, Romford, Chigwell, Barking & Dagenham
Rate: £24.24/hour (Umbrella)
Contract: Full-Time, Initial 4-Month Contract (Potential to Extend)
Hours: 40 hours/week (Mon-Fri)
OT: Saturday overtime at time and a half (not guaranteed)



About the Role
We're seeking experienced Multi-Trade Operatives to deliver responsive and planned repairs across residential properties in East/North London and Essex, covering areas including Bow, Haringey, Islington, Tottenham, Romford, Chigwell, and Barking & Dagenham.



Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out multi-trade repairs: plumbing, carpentry, plastering, tiling, decorating, basic electrics
  • Maintain high standards and provide excellent customer service
  • Log work using a mobile device
  • Manage van stock and tools
  • Report follow-on works and health & safety concerns


Requirements

  • Proven multi-trade experience (preferably in social housing)
  • Skilled in at least two core trades
  • Must provide own hand tools
  • Full UK driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points
  • Basic DBS check (required)
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent preferred
  • Strong communication and time management skills
