MMP Consultancy currently has an opportunity for a Property Surveyor to join a housing association. My client is looking for a Property Surveyor. This role is FULLY REMOTE Covering an area which includes East London, Chelmsford and Colchester
This position is paying £50,209.69 Benefits (inc Car Allowance)
Job Purpose:
The role is responsible for leading and managing the delivery of property investment, service & inspection and repairs services to parts of the property portfolio, approx. 20-40 locations. Working with housing/care operations you will ensure timely delivery of services, and ensure all properties are kept in a good condition within property strategy targets. You will ensure compliance with commercial and contract management arrangements, ensuring the contractual obligations are met. Manage project performance and working with the quantity surveying team ensure robust financial forecasting, processing of valuations and contract instructions. To be responsible for identifying cost saving through collaboration with contractor and quantity surveying team. The role will require strong interaction with housing/care operations teams to ensure works run smoothly and meets the needs of the business.
Key Accountabilities:
Freedom to act:
* This is an important role within Property which ensures maintenance of good quality homes through individual ownership of each location.
* The role has latitude within budgetary restrictions and portfolio strategy requirements to prioritise activity and spend to achieve these targets.
* As well as day to day activity, this role will have to respond quickly and effectively to ad hoc requests from the business, which may be complex, urgent, and business critical.
* The role will require effective engagement with colleagues in Housing and Care operations
Nature of impact:
* The role will work with others to effectively deliver repairs, investment and service & inspection activities to individual locations.
* Collaboratively with quantity surveying team, contractors and colleagues.
Key Tasks:
* Delivery of all property activities to a portfolio of properties
* To undertake regular inspections such as Stock Condition surveys, MOT surveys and Asbestos reinspection's
* Working within the management arrangements ensure repairs and planned works are necessary and delivered in the most cost effective manner.
* To analyse performance of properties to recommend future investment, and repair planning for you portfolio.

Building Surveyor
MMP Consultancy currently have an opportunity for a Building Surveyor to join a local authority based in North London.
This will be an interim position paying £41.90 P/Hour Umbrella on a 6-9 Month contract (36 hours per week) with the option to be extended.
Primary Job Function:
To deal with repair issue cases referred to them, diagnose the cause and arrange for works to be carried out. This will include the assessment of condensation cases and drafting reports for presentation tom the High Value Repair Panel
Role Duties:
* Carry out building inspections as necessary to diagnose the cause of building defects, raise work orders using National Housing Federation Schedule of Rates or specifications as appropriate.
* To prepare reports relating to condensation in compliance with the Condensation Protocol.
* To assist in the preparation of reports for senior managers, including those of a policy or strategic nature.
* To produce professional technical reports and present them to the High Value Repair Panel.
* To manage subsidence and structural failure cases in association with specialist external consultants.
* To assess alteration requests from tenants and leaseholders and complete paperwork in compliance with the process.
* To manage fire, flood or collision Insurance cases.
* To assist the Legal Disrepair and Diagnostics Manager in the development of policies and procedures relating tom the Repairs Service.
Building Safety Manager
MMP Consultancy currently have an opportunity for a Building Safety Manager to join a local authority based in Hampshire. This will be a permanent position paying £46,000 P/A Plus Benefits.
Job Purpose:
- To take responsibility for coordination and management of all matters relating to structural and fire safety in in-scope buildings to meet current and forthcoming legislative requirements.
- To deliver the regulatory requirements of the Building Safety Act and Fire Safety Act to provide an effective and efficient building safety service to my clients Higher Risk Buildings and ensure compliance with and implementing the required changes detailed in building safety legislation.
- To oversee the safe management of SCC high-rise (and/or higher risk) residential buildings within the Housing Management building stock. (The council currently has 21 buildings over 18 metres & a number of high-risk buildings)
- To oversee the implementation of controls in respect of structural and fire safety on a day-to-day basis.
- To effectively manage safety within the designated in-scope blocks to which the role relates.
- To ensure that controls are implemented in respect of building work carried out in the in-scope blocks to which the role relates.
- To engage with colleagues who are responsible for managing projects undertaken within the in-scope buildings.
- To assist with the development and implementation of Building Safety Cases being prepared by the fire safety team, and to ensure their effective maintenance and management post-implementation.

- To ensure that planned, preventive maintenance is carried out within the in-scope blocks to which the role relates.
- To engage with relevant Housing Management staff to ensure that roles are performed effectively in accordance with the Corporate Fire Safety Policy.
- To oversee the successful implementation of corrective actions arising from fire risk assessments and audits.
- To ensure that facilities for use by the fire and rescue service are effectively managed and maintained.
- To perform any other reasonable tasks that ensure the effective management of premises for which the role is responsible, to the fulfilment of our customer service objectives and in compliance with the Fire Safety Legislation.

MMP Consultancy is currently seeking an experienced Technical Fire Compliance Manager for a permanent contract with a public sector housing organisation in London Up to £80.3k total package.
Key Duties
* To ultimately support the fire safety and wellbeing of customers and residents and the safety of the buildings they occupy.
* The post holder will be part of the Development team reporting into the Director of Design, Technical and Innovation and will deliver first class specialist and technical service to the business providing assurance of practice and standards for statutory compliance.

Job Description
* European Diploma or Equivalent in Fire Safety. (E)
* IFE Graduate Membership. (E)
* Experience of working in a construction, building or facilities management role and environment, preferably experience in the social housing or residential management sector. (E)
* A demonstrable understanding of fire safety, particularly application in social housing. (E)
* A solid understanding of housing construction, building pathology and how fire systems work in design construction and assets. (E)
* An understanding and experience of record keeping for compliance including the ability to maintain and update accurate data logging, numeric and photographic records in a digital environment. (E)
* A sound knowledge of the requirements of legislation, regulation, policy and best practice relating to fire safety and compliance or knowledge of limitations and when to seek professional support. (E)
* Strong interpersonal skills including influencing and developing relationships with stakeholders, duty holders, and external agencies. (E)
