Job Description
MMP Consultancy is currently seeking an experienced Technical Fire Compliance Manager for a permanent contract with a public sector housing organisation in London Up to £80.3k total package.
Key Duties
* To ultimately support the fire safety and wellbeing of customers and residents and the safety of the buildings they occupy.
* The post holder will be part of the Development team reporting into the Director of Design, Technical and Innovation and will deliver first class specialist and technical service to the business providing assurance of practice and standards for statutory compliance.
* To work with the Senior Health and Safety manager, the Group Building Safety Team, and Development Directorate.
* To provide design advice for new developments, making sure that the project conforms to all relevant
* statutory requirements and our Employer's Requirements for fire safety.
* The post holder will be key to delivering on assurance of fire policy and process by fulfilling a proactive position
* on fire standards and compliance through auditing, review and external stakeholder liaison.
* The post holder will be the technical expert and lead for compliance.
The post holder will be responsible for providing fire safety advice to technical teams in delivery of key risk operations. They will be proactive in monitoring senior technical staff and management and will be subject matter experts to provide the assurance of the practices of operational staff in:

Job Description
* European Diploma or Equivalent in Fire Safety. (E)
* IFE Graduate Membership. (E)
* Experience of working in a construction, building or facilities management role and environment, preferably experience in the social housing or residential management sector. (E)
* A demonstrable understanding of fire safety, particularly application in social housing. (E)
* A solid understanding of housing construction, building pathology and how fire systems work in design construction and assets. (E)
* An understanding and experience of record keeping for compliance including the ability to maintain and update accurate data logging, numeric and photographic records in a digital environment. (E)
* A sound knowledge of the requirements of legislation, regulation, policy and best practice relating to fire safety and compliance or knowledge of limitations and when to seek professional support. (E)
* Strong interpersonal skills including influencing and developing relationships with stakeholders, duty holders, and external agencies. (E)
* Able to provide in depth reviews and reports to senior people in the business. (E)

Key Accountabilities:

Key Tasks:
Key tasks and accountabilities are intended to be a guide to the range and level Qf work expected of the 'post holder. This is not an exhaustive list of all tasks that may fall to the post holder and employees will be expected to carry out such other reasonable duties which may be required from time to time.
To deputise for the Major Works & Voids Manager or the Disrepair & Special Projects Manager in the management of services for the entire Housing Property Services.- To establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders and partners and any other agency or department, so as to provide an effective and efficient service.
- To undertake Health & Safety inspections and evaluate outcomes for the whole team, and ensure any works necessary are carried out.
- To ensure that day-to-day and responsive repairs, including the appointment diaries, are managed and executed to provide both a good service to the customer as well as ensuring value for money. To effectively monitor and control expenditure against budget and to provide statistical analysis. To liaise directly with the council's preferred contractors.
- To ensure that all works are supervised and undertaken in accordance with contract specifications, London Borough of Newham's procedures, Health &
- Safety (including gas safety) Regulations and the Control of Asbestos Regulations
- 2012.
- To affect the leaks procedure, including liaising with the Legal Section to initiate enforcement action.
- To assist with the contract documentation for invitations to tender, examine tenders and recommend contractors for appointment, using expert knowledge.
- To act as client in relation to technical consultants, challenging practices and costs where necessary
- To prepare project programmes, structural reports, feasibility studies, scheme specifications and tenders for capital and revenue programme schemes, including environmental works. To manage small project teams that involves other stakeholders within the council.
- To maintain records and contribute to the development and maintenance of a comprehensive stock database via regular stock condition surveys and or H&S inspections and make recommendations as necessary

My client is seeking an experienced Interim Mechanical & Electrical Manager to provide expert leadership and support across a broad range of mechanical and electrical services.
This key role involves managing contractors, overseeing performance, and ensuring that service delivery meets critical KPIs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide support across key service areas, including Electrical, Lighting, Lifts, Mechanical, Legionella, Domestic Gas, and Communal Gas services. Manage and oversee performance of contractors, ensuring compliance with agreed KPIs and quality standards. Lead and manage a team of 20 staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Attend and contribute to relevant meetings, such as Programme Board and Contractor Core Group meetings.
Oversee the management of multi-million-pound contracts across both repairs and capital programmes. Provide detailed reporting and updates to senior management on service delivery, performance, and improvement areas.
What You'll Achieve: Deliver efficient and high-quality mechanical and electrical services within the council's housing portfolio. Skills & Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering and/or electrical services. Membership in a professional institute such as CIBSE, CIOB, or RICS. This pivotal role supports the Principal Building Safety Manager in ensuring adherence to the Building Safety Act 2022 and fostering a strong culture of building safety across the organisation. Job Purpose:
Main Responsibilities:
Preparation of and submitting Building Assessment Certificate (BAC) applications for my clients high-risk buildings.
Liaison with Building Safety Regulator.
Liaison with internal council teams, contractors and consultants to ensure compliance.
Provide support for the Principal Building Safety Manager to meet all requirements of the Building Safety Act 2022.Work closely with the Fire Safety Team to ensure compliance across all high risk buildings
Work closely with the Development Team on all new high risk buildings and to ensure we are maintaining the Golden Thread of Information
Carry out building inspections for high risk buildings reporting back to the business defects and improvement works required.
Where required, to produce/manage/contribute in the production of client briefs for the procurement of fire improvement works, resulting from the building safety inspections.
Provide competent advice to other internal departments regarding building safety, policy, and procedures, working with them to enhance building safety culture.
Where required, provide support through the building control, planning and / or listed building consent process.
Attend residents meetings where required to engage and highlight building safety within our high-risk buildings.

- Produce detailed building safety case reports in order to apply for Building Assessment Certificates
- Provide timely and accurate reports to the Principal Building Safety Manager
- Carry out building inspections to confirm level of risk and necessary actions to be taken have been captured accurately and articulated appropriately to colleagues across the organisation.
