Required Skills

• Professional membership with a relevant surveying body (e.g., RICS, CIH)
• In-depth knowledge of property surveying principles, practices, and legislation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to conduct detailed property inspections and prepare comprehensive reports
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with construction contracts, tendering, and procurement
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations and procedures
• Ability to work collaboratively with contractors, tenants, and external stakeholders

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience with property management software and internal systems
• Knowledge of building regulations and standards (e.g., Building Regulations, HHSRS)
• Familiarity with dispute resolution and mediation techniques
• Experience with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile)
• Certification in health and safety or construction law

Preferred Education and Experience

• Degree in Property Surveying, Building Surveying, or a related field
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in property surveying, preferably in a complex works environment
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality reports and resolving disputes effectively

• Ability to travel to various locations, including construction sites and tenants' properties
• Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, as required
• Valid driver's license and willingness to use company vehicle for work-related purposes

MMP Consultancy are currently seeking Disrepair Surveyor for a South London public sector housing organisation. £400 per day LTD (Inside IR35).

Working between office, site and home.

About the role

• Management of Disrepair cases from inception to completion, creating detailed reports which are usable in court if required.
• Undertake expert witness reports / scott schedules as required.
• Managing a high volume of work across a designated geographical patch.
• Take full control of the surveying duties, ensuring the completion of works.
• Autonomy on decisions which are required to ensure quality work.
• Manage tenant engagement and ensure high-calibre customer service along with the Disrepair Case Officer.
• Receives support from Solicitors within the Legal Team with the strategy on how to approach certain cases if court orders are involved.
• Deliver a high-quality customer-focused repairs and maintenance service to act as essential technical support to the Repairs and Operations
• Pre and post-condition inspections of works, with a focus on quality and cost, including but not limited to checks on asbestos management, CDM regulations and void specification brief(s).
• Undertake and monitor proactively the client's responsibilities for all contracts within the posts remit.
• Provide specialist and professional reports, write specifications, manage disrepair cases, and insurance cases, and undertake estate inspections and quality assurance inspections.
• Overseer the delegated Revenue and Capital budgets for the Repair and Maintenance and one-off projects. To support the Repairs & Operations Service and across Property Management to reduce compensation costs associated with legal disrepair

Essential:

• MRICS, MCIOB or Expert Witness qualified.
• Extensive experience in delivering complex/disrepair service for social housing.
• Understanding of disrepair legislation, Including a sound knowledge of:
• The Landlord and Tenant Act 1985
• Defective Premises Act 1972
• Detailed Knowledge and understanding of pre and post-inspection processes, building pathology and repairs techniques.
• Detailed Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities in relation to construction and Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations.

MMP Consultancy are currently seeking Major Works Project Manager (Fire Safety) for a South London public sector housing organisation. £500 per day LTD (Inside IR35).

About the role

• Will be managing the implementation and delivery of FRA actions from Type 4 risk assessments.
• Must be familiar with the management of contractors for fire safety remedial projecta on Major Works programmes.
• Management of a budget of £34 million.
• Covering High Rise, High Risk Buildings.
• Knowledge of building regulations, approved document B, social housing and the regulatory reform fire safety order
• MCIOB or MRICS is essential.

The Surveying Manager leads a team of surveyors and contractors to deliver effective, resident focussed,
value for money building surveying services. This includes stock condition surveys, diagnostic
inspections, complex casework, and resource allocation.
Working with a range of internal and external stakeholders, the Surveying Manager ensures that our clients homes are safe, warm, dry and meet all requirements.
Main duties & responsibilities
Leadership

Implementation of robust quality control measures including post-inspections
Supervision of contractors on site
Preparation of technical reports, detailed specifications and scheme design drawings
Management of disrepair, environmental health notices, and EPA claims
Management of party wall, right to light, and alteration applications
Investigation and effective resolution of complaints
