Job Description

MMP Consultancy is seeking a Maintenance Service Manager on behalf of a Private Contractor based across Southeast London and Kent, to oversee maintenance service delivery within NHS Trusts on a permanent basis with a salary of £45,000 per annum plus a £4,872 car allowance.

This role is essential to ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, compliant maintenance service. You will supervise both our in-house team of maintenance operatives and subcontractors, supporting performance, efficiency, and the resolution of maintenance issues. You will act as a key point of contact for operational matters with the client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of maintenance operatives to ensure responsive and efficient handling of reactive and planned maintenance tasks in line with KPIs and SLAs.
  • Monitor and ensure the completion of statutory inspections and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules.
  • Ensure timely resolution of defects and remedial works, escalating issues where necessary.
  • Manage stock of spares and consumables.
  • Organise the on-call rota and provide escalation support as required.
  • Oversee tools and equipment, ensuring they are safely stored, maintained, and certified.
  • Conduct inspections and health & safety audits to ensure high standards of workmanship.
  • Represent the company at client meetings and audits and support the Contract Manager with operational planning.
  • Supervise subcontractor works and performance.
  • Identify opportunities for small works and lifecycle investment.
  • Maintain accurate asset registers and manage contract variations.
  • Issue and manage Permits to Work in line with the Contractor's HSQ&E procedures.
  • Deliver regular toolbox talks and safety briefings.

Requirements:

  • Healthcare facilities experience (essential) - either directly with the NHS or through a contractor.
  • Experience supervising FM teams and managing operational delivery in a hospital or clinical environment.
  • A sound understanding of contract compliance, record keeping, and operational processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Competency with IT systems including MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • A good awareness of health & safety legislation and practices.
  • This role would suit an experienced FM Supervisor ready to step up, or an existing Service/Contract Manager with a background in healthcare environments.
