Job Description
MMP Consultancy currently have an opportunity for a Voids Surveyor to join a housing association based in Battle.
This will be a permanent position paying £38,100 - £42,000 P/A Plus Benefits £1,800 Car Allowance.
The Role:
The primary function of the role is to provide a responsive repair and void surveying service for My Client.
To ensure that all My Clients owned and managed properties are maintained to the highest possible standards and that all statutory and regulatory requirements are met.
To ensure staff, residents, leaseholders, managing agencies and property owners are provided with a high standard of service.
Job Purpose:
- To undertake the management of responsive repairs including taking corrective action where necessary and report regularly to the Contract Manager on progress.
- To analyse and assess building defects, provide remedial proposals and prepare specifications for remedial repairs. To ensure that specifications are up to date and meet current legislative standards.
- To obtain where necessary quotations and estimates, in accordance with our procurement procedures.
- To maintain communication and consultation to the highest possible standards of customer care with all stakeholders.
- To ensure work is carried out within the budgets and value for money is achieved, by monitoring and reporting on performance.
- To continuously identify ways of delivering the service in a more efficient and effective way.
- To suggest improvements to procedure, processes, and quality control.
- To provide advice to other staff, both technical and non-technical, on construction and building related matters. This is to include desktop reviews of drawings and specifications for new developments to advise the Soft Landings team members of issues to be resolved.
- Monitor the performance of contractors and consultants and provide reports to the Contract Manager or Head of Service.
- Carry out post inspection/quality control checks on works and pursue any necessary redress to achieve satisfactory completion.
- Carry out H&S spot checks and monitor contractors and ensure contractors are working safely and complying with all relevant Health & Safety risk assessments and method statements.
- To manage complaints through the complaints process, receiving, taking ownership and providing written responses as required.
- Undertake the role of lead officer for responsive repair and void works and follow my clients contract management framework.
- To monitor and keep accurate records of progress on site, including a record of any variations, snagging and health and safety records. Accurately update Orchard and APEX on the progress of all jobs. Accurately record and acknowledge all customer contacts, complaint details, actions and learning points on CRM/CD.
- Promote and encourage customers to verify and self-serve on our customer portal and mobile app.
- Embrace and promote my clients culture, values and behaviours, helping to create an environment which is supportive, and a place where it's enjoyable to work.
- To carry out any tasks deemed appropriate or required by the Contract Manager or Head of Service with the team, to create greater resilience across service charge setting activities.
- Be available for OOH cover, when necessary, as per the agreed rota for Contract Services

Building Surveyor
MMP Consultancy currently have an opportunity for a Building Surveyor to join a local authority based in North London.
This will be an interim position paying £41.90 P/Hour Umbrella on a 6-9 Month contract (36 hours per week) with the option to be extended.
Primary Job Function:
To deal with repair issue cases referred to them, diagnose the cause and arrange for works to be carried out. This will include the assessment of condensation cases and drafting reports for presentation tom the High Value Repair Panel
Role Duties:
* Carry out building inspections as necessary to diagnose the cause of building defects, raise work orders using National Housing Federation Schedule of Rates or specifications as appropriate.
* To prepare reports relating to condensation in compliance with the Condensation Protocol.
* To assist in the preparation of reports for senior managers, including those of a policy or strategic nature.
* To produce professional technical reports and present them to the High Value Repair Panel.
* To manage subsidence and structural failure cases in association with specialist external consultants.
* To assess alteration requests from tenants and leaseholders and complete paperwork in compliance with the process.
* To manage fire, flood or collision Insurance cases.

Building Safety Manager
MMP Consultancy currently have an opportunity for a Building Safety Manager to join a local authority based in Hampshire. This will be a permanent position paying £46,000 P/A Plus Benefits.
Job Purpose:
- To take responsibility for coordination and management of all matters relating to structural and fire safety in in-scope buildings to meet current and forthcoming legislative requirements.
- To deliver the regulatory requirements of the Building Safety Act and Fire Safety Act to provide an effective and efficient building safety service to my clients Higher Risk Buildings and ensure compliance with and implementing the required changes detailed in building safety legislation.
- To oversee the safe management of SCC high-rise (and/or higher risk) residential buildings within the Housing Management building stock. (The council currently has 21 buildings over 18 metres & a number of high-risk buildings)
- To oversee the implementation of controls in respect of structural and fire safety on a day-to-day basis.
- To effectively manage safety within the designated in-scope blocks to which the role relates.
- To ensure that controls are implemented in respect of building work carried out in the in-scope blocks to which the role relates.
- To engage with colleagues who are responsible for managing projects undertaken within the in-scope buildings.

MMP Consultancy is currently seeking an experienced Technical Fire Compliance Manager for a permanent contract with a public sector housing organisation in London Up to £80.3k total package.
Key Duties
* To ultimately support the fire safety and wellbeing of customers and residents and the safety of the buildings they occupy.
* The post holder will be part of the Development team reporting into the Director of Design, Technical and Innovation and will deliver first class specialist and technical service to the business providing assurance of practice and standards for statutory compliance.

Job Description
* European Diploma or Equivalent in Fire Safety. (E)
* IFE Graduate Membership. (E)
* Experience of working in a construction, building or facilities management role and environment, preferably experience in the social housing or residential management sector. (E)
* A demonstrable understanding of fire safety, particularly application in social housing. (E)
* A solid understanding of housing construction, building pathology and how fire systems work in design construction and assets. (E)
* An understanding and experience of record keeping for compliance including the ability to maintain and update accurate data logging, numeric and photographic records in a digital environment. (E)
* A sound knowledge of the requirements of legislation, regulation, policy and best practice relating to fire safety and compliance or knowledge of limitations and when to seek professional support. (E)
* Strong interpersonal skills including influencing and developing relationships with stakeholders, duty holders, and external agencies. (E)
