MMP Consultancy currently have an opportunity for a Disrepair Surveyor to join a local authority based in East Devon.

This will be an interim position paying £44.52 P/H Umbrella on a 3-6 Month contract.

The Role:

To provide the day-to-day repair service to tenants and maintain the Council's housing stock. To manage the day-to-day repair/void contracts and contractors to a high standard providing high quality repair services to the Council and tenant. To support the Senior Technical Officer and other technical staff in achieving the priorities and objectives of the Council.

Job Purpose:

  • Dealing with the reactive and planned property maintenance requirements of the Council's dwellings within a prescribed budget and aligned to the contract, and to ensure compliance with the current Decent Homes Standard.
  • Investigate repair requests, diagnose faults and complaints, commission repairs and supervise them through to completion. Carrying out pre and post inspections of repairs in line with the current contract requirements.
  • Establish appropriate effective working relationships with the current contractor/s which support and grow the partnership.

The Role:

  • The role involves surveying customer homes and communal spaces. You will be working alongside our residents and leaseholders taking ownership of ensuring that repairs are managed end to end and to manage issues and complaints that arise before, during or after works.

  • You will be responsible for your own portfolio of projects, managing the day-to-day scoping of works, offering technical support. Ensuring delivery teams and contractors carry out the correct repairs works on time, to budget and in line with our standards.

Job Purpose:

  • Ownership of complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring that repairs are project managed to meet deadlines and within budget*.

The Role:

Responsible for the asset data collection strategy in terms of

To supervise a team responsible for the commissioning and collection of asset data.

Responsible for the commissioning a procurement strategy for Procurement Services to procure for consultants and building specialists, including developing the specification and contract docs

Job Purpose:

Achieve project objectives through the application of effective project management methodology by:

This will be an Interim position 4-6 months paying £30-£32 P/H Umbrella.

The Role:

  • To undertake extensive building contract administration, the preparation of legal contract tender documentation, specification, supervision and monitoring of capital contracts for Council owned Housing.

  • To carry out inspections of void and tenanted properties to agree work specifications.

  • To be responsible for the delivery of a customer focussed reactive maintenance service. Proactively engaging with residents to provide support, advice and interventions to ensure that properties are effectively maintained, all repairs are undertaken promptly and to high standards, contractors are monitored and supervised ensuring performance targets are achieved and high levels of customer satisfaction is attained

Job Purpose:

  • To undertake feasibility studies and stock condition surveys, and to prepare specifications and schedule of works for possible remedial works.

  • To provide regular updates of expenditure on capital budgets and performance of the services and to maintain financial and statistical records for all capital works including any special projects.

MMP Consultancy currently have an opportunity for a Housing Fire Safety Manager to join a local authority based out of Hampshire.

This will be a permanent position paying £57,214 P/A rising to £59,234 P/A with excellent performance.

The Role:

  • To lead and manage the Council's response to fire safety in the Council's Housing stock, including devising strategies, policies and assurance processes to ensure compliance with all statutory fire safety laws/regulations/codes of practice and guidance.
  • To lead and manage the Council's housing fire risk assessment programme.
  • To lead and manage the delivery of all programmes of work and actions arising from fire risk assessments, ensuring they are undertaken within appropriate timescales.
  • To work closely with the Executive Head of Governance and Housing, EMT and Housing Service Managers on all aspects of fire safety and related works.

Job Purpose:

  • To lead and manage the Council's response to fire safety in the Council housing stock.

  • To lead, manage, plan and deliver the Council's programme of fire risk assessments across all Council housing stock.

  • To lead and manage the implementation of all work programmes and actions arising out of fire risk assessments including tendering projects, ensuing that fire safety work is undertaken to the required standard.

  • Apply sound professional judgement to ensure that risks are escalated to the Executive Head/EMT and to devise appropriate robust and tested mitigation plans and strategies to deal with risk.

  • Be responsible for embedding a positive fire safety culture through close liaison with all Housing Service Managers, the Executive Head and EMT and arrange a regular programme of fire safety training across Housing Services.

  • Liaise with enforcing authorities where necessary, taking responsibility for recording and managing fire incidences and implementing any post-incident actions.

  • Represent my client at fire safety sector forums, building professional relationships with key external stakeholders, including Hampshire & IOW Fire Service, Health and Safety Executive and the Social Housing Regulator.

MMP Consultancy currently have an opportunity for a Responsive Repairs Surveyor to join a local authority based out of Bristol

This will be an Interim position for 6-9 Months paying £30-£35 P/H Umbrella

The Role:

Responsible for ensuring that responsive repairs, including relets, are carried out satisfactorily from end-to-end of the process, including monitoring the work of the trade teams and contractors, from start to completion, ensuring delivery of high-quality work, getting work done "right-first-time" and achieving high customer satisfaction within budgetary targets and providing a cost effective, value for money service.

Job Purpose:

  • Carry out pre and post repairs, exchange, and relet inspections as directed by the Council's scheduling system and in liaison with the Trade Teams. Diagnose, assess, and specify work required, in consultation with the customer. Order work through the Council's IT system.
  • Manage the delivery and quality of work carried out by internal workforce Trade Teams and external contractors, to maximise customer experience and satisfaction, taking the lead responsibility on dealing with any issues or complaints in a timely manner, ensuring any lessons learnt from these experiences are implemented as part of driving forward improvements to the service and continuously improving customer experience.
  • Own repairs and complaints taking responsibility for actioning from end-to-end of the process. Ensure that where work is delegated or carried out by other parties, such as contractors, that over-view is managed, and deadlines achieved successfully. Ensure customers are kept informed of progress throughout the process and that the work is completed to quality, financial and time targets. Champion an excellent customer/stakeholder experience with Housing Delivery Responsive Repairs.

  • Ensure that databases, web sites, etc. are maintained and up-dated by the service, for both staff and customers, in an accurate and timely manner with information concerning repairs and improvements carried out plus other property information, as required.

  • Understand the different needs and expectations of customers. Ensure that processes are in place to meet their needs, exceed their expectations and check information held about them is correct wherever possible. Consult with customers and monitor and check customer satisfaction. Champion improvements in customer experience with the Responsive Repairs Service.

MMP Consultancy currently have an opportunity for a Building Safety Manager to join a local authority based in Hampshire. This will be an interim contract for 6 months with the option to be extended.

This role is paying £350 - £425 p/d Umbrella.

Job Purpose:

  • To take responsibility for coordination and management of all matters relating to structural and fire safety in in-scope buildings to meet current and forthcoming legislative requirements.
  • To deliver the regulatory requirements of the Building Safety Act and Fire Safety Act to provide an effective and efficient building safety service to my clients Higher Risk Buildings and ensure compliance with and implementing the required changes detailed in building safety legislation.
  • To oversee the safe management of SCC high-rise (and/or higher risk) residential buildings within the Housing Management building stock. (The council currently has 21 buildings over 18 metres & a number of high-risk buildings)
  • To oversee the implementation of controls in respect of structural and fire safety on a day-to-day basis.
  • To effectively manage safety within the designated in-scope blocks to which the role relates.
  • To ensure that controls are implemented in respect of building work carried out in the in-scope blocks to which the role relates.

This will be a temporary position paying £30 - £33 P/H Umbrella on a 6-9 Month Contract

The Role:

  • Responsible for pre/post-inspection and reports for responsive repairs, void works and cyclical repairs within the relevant area of operation, consulting and engaging with customers, leaseholders and with internal and external stakeholders in the region. Ensure the highest customer standards of delivery are achieved, minimal defects, and a high level of customer satisfaction is achieved. Effectively managing the performance and on site progress of my clients Contractors ensuring that works are delivered on time, to a regional budget of £10m, to quality standards and achieve value for money in line with all relevant statutory regulations and compliance.

Job Purpose:

  • Deliver an effective & efficient Repairs & Maintenance service at an operational level to include a regionally based professional surveying service, disrepair works, Major/Complex Works, FRA, responsive repairs, voids and aids and adaptations.
  • Prepare and carry out diagnostic inspections, surveys & technical reports in accordance with Group practice. Providing accurate technical advice with competent & thorough surveys/post-inspections.
  • Identifies and manages insurance claims ensuring most economically advantageous outcome for the organisation. To include, property inspections, managing decants, liaising with loss adjusters/insurance team.
  • Technical lead within the Housing team during the handover of any new developments to ensure quality control through to completion and the end of defects.
  • Effective and efficiently control budgetary spend of approx. £2m within individual area of operation, ensuring revenue and capital spend are recorded accurately.
  • Review invoices and requests for payment from contractors, challenge and resolve submissions where required.
  • Deliver and effectively manage legal disrepair claims and Environmental Health Orders in line with group process and provide detailed reports, and manage complex repairs to an agreed outcome to protect my clients interests.
  • Ensure effective liaison with in-house service provider, M&E contractors and external sub-contractor staff to ensure the delivery of a top quartile service in line with industry standards, schedule of Rates, operational regulatory framework, health & safety (including asbestos)
  • Management and coordination of empty properties to ensure minimal rental loss and maximum return.
  • Carry out major void inspections, ensuring void works are completed to my clients lettable standard against key performance indicators and providing detailed costing for the Options Appraisal's.
