list Damp and Mould Surveyor

£325 - £350 per day Umbrella (Experience related)

MMP Consultancy currently have an opportunity for a Damp and Mould Surveyor to join a housing association based out of Leicestershire paying £325-£350 P/Day Umbrella (D.O.E)

This will be a temporary position paying on a 6 -9-month interim contract with the option to be extended or to go temp to perm after this period.

The role will see you being based out of the Leicestershire office covering a patch between either Leicester- Nottingham or Leicester - Northampton,

The WFH Split is 1-day P/W in the office, 4 days P/W on inspections/at home.

The Role:

  • To contribute to the successful delivery and completion of damp, mould and disrepair works within a new dedicated team within the Assets department.
  • To carry out your role efficiently and effectively, ensure property inspections and works are delivered to a high standard, meeting our service standards whilst providing excellent customer experience and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Job Purpose:

  • To project manage damp, mould and disrepair works from inception through to completion including diagnosing, specifying; procuring and monitoring.
  • Ensure effective solutions for managing and reducing the causes of damp and mould are identified, which will include building repairs, installing mechanical ventilation and humidity control systems, and by providing clear advice to residents to help them understand the causes of damp and mould and behaviours that will reduce humidity in their homes.
  • Undertake contractor administration duties as required including reviewing Bills of Quantities, Schedules of Works, Specifications and all contract documentation, ensuring that these comply with the project brief and timescales, budget estimates, all relevant legislation, health and safety regulations and policies.
  • To effectively manage contractors, carrying out and managing the quality inspection process of works, including pre-start scoping, work in progress quality inspections and post inspection sign-offs.
  • Maintain CRM and systems recording progress of the works to ensure information is accurate and up to date, providing regular project updates to the senior management team.
  • Certifying contractor valuations and claims within this role's delegated authority limits, including interim and final account payment.
  • Work closely with our Resident Liaison Officer to ensure customers are informed of progress at all stages, the works offer excellent customer experience and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate VFM in the delivery of damp, mould and disrepair work projects, providing strong contract management and delivery of programmes maximising quality and value to budget.

This will be a 6 Month FTC paying £40,482 P/A Plus Benefits.

Job Purpose:

  • To provide technical surveying across a geographical portfolio of properties and contract management for a defined planned maintenance programme across the region.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of the vision, Corporate Strategy, culture and organisational effectiveness.

The Role:

  • Planned maintenance delivery through external contractors.
  • Minor works.
  • Refurbishment works.
  • Planned, repairs & void surveying.
  • Health and Safety work such as fire safety programmes.
  • Work to home owners, leaseholders and market rent customers.
  • The Surveyors will have responsibility for providing surveying activities and contract administration duties for all maintenance services within their portfolio regions. Surveyors will be assigned major works and cyclical programmes to deliver and allocated a geographical patch that is aligned to a housing neighbourhood officer (where possible). They will be responsible for surveying any void properties, surveying repairs that have be requested by customers, post inspections, identifying all communal repairs and ensuring these are managed through to completion. Decisions made at this level include:-

    1. Identify works require to a void to meet my clients lettable standard.
    2. Undertake domestic and commercial building surveys to provide advice on matters such as construction defects, disrepair and dilapidations.
    3. Produce detailed reports concerning findings including options for remedial solutions with cost estimates and proposals regarding safe methods of work.
    4. Provide advice to colleagues regarding legislative matters such Planning and Building Regulations approval etc.
    5. Keeping abreast of industry law and best practice and how to apply them to our operations.

MMP Consultancy currently has an opportunity for a Programme Delivery Manager to join a Housing Association based in Leicestershire.

This will be a permanent position paying £55,000-£57,000 per annum plus benefits

The Role:

  • To successfully deliver the programme delivery and planned works programmes for my client for our Midlands properties. The primary focus for this role is to lead a small team to project manage our investment work contracts. To ensure works are delivered to a high standard, which also delivers excellent customer experience and high levels of customer satisfaction. This role will be required to deliver on the added value promises of our suppliers. Provide regular project updates and management reports. This role will also minimise costs of the service and enhance value for money, while still achieving the expected service standards.

Job Purpose:

  • To deliver the investment and planned works programmes for my client for our Midlands properties. Investment works include kitchens, bathrooms, window, doors and roof replacements. Planned works include cyclical decoration and repairs to our schemes and other ad-hoc planned works as required.

  • Carry out the role of contract administrator for the investment and planned works through our asset management system Keystone.

  • Certifying contractor valuations and claims, including interim and final account payment.

  • Carry out and manage the quality inspection process of works, including pre-start scoping, work in progress quality inspections and post inspection sign-offs.

  • Manage the resident liaison officer to ensure the investment and planned works offer excellent customer experience and high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Review and update our stock data to develop future investment and planned work programmes.

  • Prepare schedules of works, issue variations and contract certification and documentation through Keystone.

This will be an Interim position 6-9 months paying £300 P/Day Umbrella.

The Role:

  1. To support the Senior Client Programme Manager in defining both the 5 year investment programme and individual project(s) scope. The role will be responsible for managing a team of surveyors who lead the briefing process for all new projects that will be delivered via Term Partnering Contracts (TPC). The TPC is a relatively new delivery model for my client, moving away from individually-procured projects to a situation whereby each Partnering Contractor will be responsible for designing and managing delivery of circa £20million per annum of major works refurbishment projects.

Job Purpose:

  • Assist the Senior Client Programme Manager in the development of an informed capital investment programme on the basis of 1, 3, 5, and 30 year cycles;
  • Management of external consultants to ensure that the needs of the brief have been interpreted and the consultants understand what is expected of them. Ability to answer detailed technical queries that may arise;
  • To ensure efficient and timely handover of projects from Asset Strategy to the Capital Programme and Repairs & Maintenance teams for delivery under the term partnering contracts. In short, the Client Surveying Team will manage projects through RIBA Stages 0 (Strategic Definition) and 1-2 (Preparation & Brief). The role will also monitor and review 'lessons learnt' from completed projects;
  • Utilising the Client Surveying team project tracker to ensure that the Team meets its targets for the timely and efficient handover of client briefs.
  • Constantly review the council's Asset Information, collecting data from all available sources and particularly using communication and engagement with stakeholders for this purpose;
  • Act as a technical specialist in surveying and to manage the expertise across the stock for the Team;
  • Work with the Senior Client Programme Manager (and others) to develop polices / standards / standard specifications supporting the current asset strategy;
  • Work towards the development of capital programme works for the area on the basis of 1, 3, 5, and 30 year cycles. Work with the Client Surveyors and Asset Programme Analyst to monitor and develop the Citywide major works Programme;
