Job Description

MMP Consultancy are seeking a Fire Risk Assessor, a bright, enthusiastic, hardworking, and dedicated individual to join a flexible technical team of professional Fire Risk Assessors.

We need the successful candidate to be organised, professional and presentable, and to be able to liaise with our clients, tenant to board director. You will have excellent computing skills, and be able to demonstrate in depth working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook as an absolute minimum.

About the Role:

  • Join a team conducting fire risk management surveys and assessments across a wide range of buildings, including:
    • Care homes
    • High-rise residential blocks
    • Hospitals
    • Schools
    • Listed buildings
    • Converted street properties

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed Type 1, 2, and 3 Fire Risk Assessments in line with nationally recognised guidance and to an accepted standard
  • Provide clear, timely written reports outlining findings and required remedial actions
  • Use a RAG (Red, Amber, Green) rating system to prioritise findings
  • Prepare Action Plans and Fire Emergency Plans where requested
  • Carry out Compartmentation Surveys
  • Conduct Fire Door Inspections as required
  • Assist in developing overall Fire Safety strategies

Collaboration & Compliance:

  • Work closely with other Fire Safety Consultants and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure delivery of risk assessments in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Attend client and service meetings as needed
  • Stay up to date on legislative changes and ensure ongoing compliance with fire safety regulations

Experience Required:

  • Current fire safety legislation, technical standards, trends and best practice.
  • Proven and previous experience in the completion of Fire Risk Assessments and reports.
  • Communicating effectively at all levels.
  • Current UK driving licence
  • Recognisable and professional qualification in fire safety management and fire risk assessments from creditable providers such as the Fire Protection Association, Fire Industry Association and NEBOSH Fire Safety Management. FDIS or BRE Fire Door Inspection course
  • In depth post qualification experience, providing services to large organisations, including the social housing sector, and private markets alike.
  • Diploma in Fire Prevention or equivalent
  • Membership with the Institute of Fire Safety Managers

Salary & Compensation

  • Base Salary: £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)
  • Annual Bonus: Performance-based bonus of up to 10%
  • Pension Scheme: 5% employer contribution

MMP Consultancy is currently looking for a new Mechanical and Electrical Manager to join their team, this would be a permanent opportunity paying £50,000 Benefits

Job purpose
This key role will help ensure the Group continues to meet its obligations for mechanical and electrical standards as part of its building safety obligations and keep residents safe.

Reporting to the Planned and Cyclical Programme Manager, develop and deliver mechanical and electrical works programmes as part of the Group 5 Year Investment Plan.

To manage procurement, contract management and delivery of all mechanical and electrical programmes as required, either through direct management of contractors or through specialist consultants

As part of delivery of works, ensure all building safety compliance, statutory and regulatory obligations are picked up and addressed.

Planned and Cyclical Programme Manager

To ensure the Group's asset management and compliance databases in relation to mechanical and electrical programmes are maintained and ad hoc property surveys are undertaken and recorded.

To manage all mechanical and electrical servicing and inspection programmes and follow-up works, ensuring effective contract management and administration, quality assurance of both works and certification including a sample check and post-inspection programme.

To manage all mechanical and electrical contractors and contracts ensuring best practice in contract management and a clear procurement strategy in place going forward.

To provide advice and assistance to the Head of Property and or Property Managers on mechanical and electrical matters as may arise from cyclical or responsive maintenance works.

To work as part of the Property and Places Team to ensure the service provides a high-quality property management service that meets all statutory and regulatory obligations and achieves high levels of resident satisfaction.

To prepare reports, programme and cash-flow forecasts for internal meetings, and work with the Planned and Cyclical Manager to support the preparation of reports for Board Committees and Board commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the role.

To be an ambassador for The Group and demonstrate the values of the organisation both internally and to external stakeholders.

MMP Consultancy is currently a Repairs and Voids Manager for a temp to perm contract within a social housing organisation based in North West London.

Being the senior contracts manager and leading on repairs, voids and disrepair properties. This role includes management of Surveyors and Administrators.

Key Duties:

  • Ensure the effective delivery of repairs, voids and disrepair properties ensuring properties are safe.
  • Direct staff in the delivery of appropriate technical issues, inspections, risk assessments, method statements and monitoring performance. Line management responsibilities.
