Sophia joined MMP in May 2021 with previous recruitment experience as a Resourcer and, within 6 months, was promoted to Recruitment Consultant. Sophia is now responsible for delivering Maintenance and Trades recruitment across East London and Essex, building on her own client and candidate relationships.

MMP go above and beyond to celebrate achievements no matter how big or small. During her time at MMP, she has been able to see first-hand the willingness and drive put into its staff members to strive for success. Estates Services Manager

Up to £25 per hour

I am currently looking for an Estates Services Manager on a contract basis for a housing provider based in Tower Hamlets. My client is looking for an immediately available Estates Services Manager.

Pay Rate:

  • £25.00ph (umbrella rate)

Hours:

  • Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)

You will be required to:

  • Operational responsibility for management and delivery of estates services delivered by the In-house Mobile Estates Cleaning Team and by external contractors.
  • Estates services including cleaning, caretaking, grounds maintenance, refuse, concierge services, external window cleaning, tree management, parking and pest control services provided to tenants and leaseholders and maintaining cleanliness of community centres and offices owned by the housing association
  • Responsible for setting and managing the service charge budgets and ensuring value for money for all residents.
  • The post-holder is responsible for all aspects of contract management for externally procured estates services, service charges and for ensuring that effective business continuity arrangements are in place.
  • Responsibility for health and safety, fleet management.
  • You'll be a natural leader who is people and outcome focused. You'll enjoy managing teams to get the very best out of them and you're first rate at driving strong team performance to enable you to foster a culture of continual learning whilst putting the residents at the heart of the service.
  • You will have a strong understanding of building safety and Fire- risk assessments and ensuring that buildings are kept safe and in line with safety guidelines.
  • You'll be responsible for all aspects of Service Charge management, contracts management, estate management and all facilities management. You will be able to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders internally and externally ensuring accuracy of data and ensuring services are in accordance with leases and tenancy agreements.
  • The postholder will be passionate in shaping service delivery and succeed in motivating teams through change and improving services. You'll are required to be in the office for three days per week and the remaining time you'll be able to work remotely, subject to THCH requirement

Trades Supervisor

Up to £42000.00 per annum

I am currently recruiting for a Trades Supervisor to join a social housing contractor based in the Southend, Essex area.

You will be required to provide on-site supervision of works carried out for all their clients including residential properties and voids, and ensuring operatives comply with health and safety and that the instructions for the job have been followed.

Salary:

  • £42,000 per annum

 Responsibilities include and not limited to

  • Day-to-day supervision of the contract dealing with residents, customers and ensuring that all operatives are working efficiently and productively
  • Ensuring that suppliers/subcontractor works are carried out in accordance with the work sheets given and in a timely manner meeting all contract KPI targets.
  • Liaising with the residents and customers and dealing with any queries or issues which may arise.
  • Ensuring works are completed on time and to a high quality standard.
  • Organising operatives, assist in planning appointments in conjunction with the call centre.
  • Completion of appropriate paperwork such as method statements and risk assessments, delivering tool box talks.
  • Attend regular weekly/bi-weekly meetings with your line manager
  • Attend pre-inspections where necessary and submit reports within 48hrs for standard orders and within 24hrs for complaints/emergencies

 Requirements:

  • Repairs and maintenance Industry
  • Previous supervisory experience on a maintenance site
  • Full Clean Driving License as you will be provided with a company van

Caretaker

Up to £15 per hour

I am currently recruiting for a Caretaker to join a college based in Cambridgeshire on a temporary ongoing basis.

An Enhanced DBS Check will need to carry out for the successful candidate.

My client is looking for an experienced Caretaker who is experienced within general maintenance repairs.

You will be required to:

  • Assist in maintaining the physical condition of the buildings, furniture, and equipment.
  • Carry out cleaning & janitorial tasks throughout the College, as required, using specialist cleaning equipment, when necessary.
  • Conduct checks of the College's appearance and carry out extra cleaning duties as required, when necessary.
  • Assist with distribution of post, packages & deliveries.
  • Monitor that College buildings are adequately heated and report faults.
  • Assist in ensuring adequate lighting is available by replacing light bulbs and tubes, as necessary.
  • Assist in the checks, maintenance and repairs to grounds, buildings, fixtures, furniture, and equipment as required.
  • Report the need for specialist repairs to line manager.
  • Direct and supervise tradesmen and contractors to the sites of repair and maintenance work.
  • Clear blockages of drains and gullies as required.
  • Clear snow from grounds and salts stairs, paths, and roads, ensuring safe access to the College.
  • Assist in ensuring all Caretaking equipment is in safe working order.
  • Assist in providing emergency cover, i.e. disaster recovery etc.
  • Maintain access to the College in cases of emergency.


Pay Rate:

  • £15.00ph (umbrella rate)

Multi Trade Plumber

Up to £36000.00 per annum


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multi Trade Plumber to work for a Contractor based in East London on a permanent basis offering a salary of £36,000. The successful Multi Trade Plumber will be able to work in occupied properties carrying out reactive repairs.

* East London

Working hours
* 08:00am to 17:00pm

You will be required to:
* All aspects of Plumbing and other associated works.
* Carry out repairs and maintenance within social housing properties, occupied.
* Provide your own basic hand and power tools.
* Optional out of hours.

Gas Engineer

Up to £25.46 per hour

MMP are currently recruiting for Gas Service Engineers to join a property and facilities group based in East London, on a 3-6-month contract basis.

You will be required to deliver high-quality installation, maintenance, and repair work across all existing and new projects, including new construction.

Pay Rate:

  • £25.46ph (CIS)

Hours:

  • Mon to Fri (40 hours per week)

Requirements:

Duties:

  • Install new heating systems per manufacturer's instructions and industry standards.
  • Perform general heating engineering and plumbing duties, including reactive repairs and servicing boilers, fires, and appliances.
  • Adhere to manufacturer instructions for repairs and installations.
  • Issue gas safety notices and certificates.
  • Assess and prepare sites before starting work.
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments and actions.
  • Conduct routine inspections to prevent issues.
  • Respond promptly to emergency calls, minimising disruption.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through clear communication and professionalism.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work, including before and after photos.
  • Leverage expertise in related trades and collaborate with other teams.
  • Use IT equipment (e.g., PDAs) for job monitoring and work allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with maintenance team members, sharing knowledge and assisting with tasks.
  • Protect work areas with coverings and move furniture to minimise damage.
  • Maintain regular contact with Technical Supervisors and report issues promptly.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • CCN1, CEN/WAT, CPA1, CKR1, HTR1.
  • CMMDA1, MET1, PART P (desirable)
  • Gas Safe registered.
  • Excellent understanding of Health and Safety regulations and procedures.
  • Proven ability to deliver high quality construction projects and efficient output to meet client expectations.
  • Able to be flexible in approach to work and working hours including attending out of hours call out work on a rotational basis.  
  • Excellent communications skills, ability to build positive working relationships with a range of clients, contractors and employees.
  • Capability of taking initiative and working independently.
  • Personal resilience and the ability to work effectively under pressure and to deadlines.

Multi Trade Carpenter

Up to £20 per hour


A new opportunity has arisen to work for a Norwich based contractor for a Multi Trade Carpenter on a temp to perm basis. The successful Multi Trade Carpenter will be required to complete planned and reactive works within properties and communal areas in Norwich.
Pay Rate:

  • £20.00p/h (CIS)


Hours:
