Fabric Technician - Maintenance
Location: Guildford

MMP has an exciting opportunity for a Fire Damper Technician to join the newly-restructured Maintenance Services team at a renowned educational institution in Guildford.
Working collaboratively within a team responsible for the operational maintenance of the premises and reporting to the Service Support Manager, you will be performing planned and reactive work on building fabric. This role supports the institution's infrastructure and environment across various premises, ensuring they are maintained in a safe, efficient, and functional manner.

The position working pattern is 08:00 - 16:15, Monday to Friday and may also involve supporting the out-of-hours rota for the maintenance services team.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain all building fabric, including statutory inspection and testing as required by current legislative standards.
  • Report failing plant or assets to the Helpdesk and ensure plant areas are kept in good condition.
  • Deliver an effective response to maintenance demands from the institution.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety and environmental systems and procedures, actively participating in policy development.
  • Ensure the use of equipment and materials in the delivery of maintenance services is appropriate, aligning with current legislation and the correct standard.
  • Perform multi-skilled tasks where relevant training/experience can be demonstrated.

    Responsibilities:

    The Outside Porter is responsible for maintaining the exterior areas of the school, ensuring they are clean, safe, and welcoming. This includes managing school entrances, pathways, playgrounds, car parks, and other external surfaces according to seasonal weather conditions.
