Responsibilities:
The Outside Porter is responsible for maintaining the exterior areas of the school, ensuring they are clean, safe, and welcoming. This includes managing school entrances, pathways, playgrounds, car parks, and other external surfaces according to seasonal weather conditions. The role also involves monitoring school bus arrivals and departures, coordinating parking, managing traffic, and ensuring the safe collection of Lower School children. Additionally, the Outside Porter handles driving requests and deliveries.
Summary of Duties
* Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain all exterior school areas, empty exterior waste bins, and ensure daily refuse collection.
* Stock Monitoring: Replenish consumable items such as bin liners and cleaning agents.
* Daily Cleaning: Clean exterior walkways, entrances, and areas of refuse and leaf litter twice daily, and manage puddling or ice in winter.
* Waste Management: Compact refuse daily for collection and arrange for disposal of minor furniture items.
* Bus Coordination: Record and monitor the arrival and departure of minibuses, ensuring orderly and safe parking.
* Gate Management: Unlock and monitor the playground gate at the end of the Lower School day, ensuring only authorized parents or guardians enter and children are safely collected.
* Parent Assistance: Aid parents/guardians with inquiries about deliveries, collections, and drop-offs.
* Maintenance Assistance: Assist the maintenance department as needed.
* Visitor Liaison: Ensure high standards of child safety and well-being through close interaction with parents and visitors.
* Gardening: Water external plants and trees and perform gardening tasks as requested.
* Driving Requests: Coordinate with the transport office for deliveries and collections.
* School Participation: Engage in school events, committees, and extracurricular activities.
* Additional Duties: Perform other duties as requested by the Facilities Operations Manager.
Requirements
* Experience: At least two years in maintenance, porter, or janitorial roles.
* Skills: Ability to multi-task, manage projects to deadlines, and handle various tasks promptly.
* Interpersonal Skills: Strong diplomacy and tact when interacting with parents, faculty, and staff.
* Teamwork: Excellent collaborative skills and a team-focused attitude.

* Driving: Clean UK driving license and confidence driving in London.

A great opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Engineer to join a FM Contractor working in Twycross, Leicester on a temporary to permanent basis, paying £24.50 p/h Umbrella.
The successful candidate will be available within short notice and have PPM, HVAC experience within Plant/Facilities engineers in a production or related development environment.
You will be required to:
* PPMS
* HVAC plant, including Reactive Maintenance and extra works/emergencies in accordance with
* Undertake minor fabric tasks and non-skilled tasks as required.
* Have experience working on electrical distribution systems, control panels
* Air Conditioners & air handling units, boilers,
* Hot water generators, pumps, compressed air systems, building management system
* M&E associated building plant, equipment works
* Ensure works are completed at a high standard within given time frames
* Participate in site duty call out when required
Qualifications:
* City & Guilds and or/ equivalent e.g NVQ or Electrical Engineering qualification
* Level 3 NVQ - 2357
* BS 7617: 18th Edition
* 2391 or 2395
* C&G PAT Testing Certificate.
