Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Location: South Parks Road, Oxford
Grade and Salary: Grade 6, £32,332 - £38,205 per annum
Hours: 37.5hpw plus overtime as and when needed
Contract Type: 1-Year Fixed-Term Contract
Role Overview:
Join our DLO Repairs & Maintenance Team to ensure safe, efficient, and customer-focused maintenance across our establishment. Responsibilities include monitoring, planned/reactive maintenance, and contractor supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out reactive and planned maintenance tasks, including advising on corrective works and managing service interruptions.
- Monitor building systems for energy savings, environmental improvements, and reliability outcomes.
- Communicate and negotiate with Building Managers/users to drive change.
- Prioritize and plan tasks, including purchasing and coordination with other trades.
- Troubleshoot technical problems with control systems like BMS TREND 963.
- Respond to emergencies and manage contractors onsite.
- Utilize SFG20 for planning and allocation of maintenance tasks.
- Direct contractors and ensure compliance with purchasing guidelines.
Selection Criteria:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in mechanical discipline.
- Extensive experience in mechanical systems maintenance, including HVAC.
- Working knowledge of control systems, preferably BMS TREND 963.
- Excellent fault diagnosis skills and ability to work flexibly within a team.
- Proficiency in IT, including CAFM systems and Microsoft Office.
- Awareness of health and safety standards and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
Desirable Criteria:
- Basic calibration experience.
- Knowledge of source heat pump, CHP, refrigeration, boilers, pumps, water systems, and controls.
- Electrical qualifications or experience.
- Gas safe qualification.
- Full Driving Licence.
