Job Title: Fire Safety Officer/ FRA Surveyor
Salary: 346.06 Per Day
Location: East London

I'm looking for a new 3 x Fire Safety Officer/ FRA Surveyor to join a local authority in East London.

Overall Purpose of Job
* An active technical team member managing all aspects of fire safety across the Council housing assets ensuring services are maintained and improved. To provide an operational fire safety management function for all Council owned and managed housing assets delivering continuous improvement in resident safety.
* Supporting compliance with both statutory and non-statutory fire safety legislation and associated building regulations.
* To carry out fire risk assessments across all of the councils housing stock. Ensuring the FRA programme is delivered on time and to the required standard through the application of a quality assurance programme.
* Ensuring compliance with legislation through the use of performance data, risk assessments and audits of Council owned and managed housing assets.
* To act as a subject matter expert for the council, in relation to fire safety. Support, develop and maintain the Housing Fire Risk Management Policy.
* To act as a resource and liaise with managers and staff at all levels within the Council implementing fire safety standards and initiatives.
* To be the specialist fire safety officer for a specific field of fire safety i.e. sheltered accommodation, temporary housing, vulnerable persons, fire engineering, etc.
* Identify fire safety priorities and assist in the overall prioritisation within the FRA programme.

    About the role

    • To be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the client's properties, carrying out inspections, diagnosis of defects and produce specifications for works and managing works to ensure they are completed to a high standard.

    • Work with other colleagues in the Property Team, customer service team and housing team, customer resolutions and estates to ensure efficient ways of working are practiced and cross departmental cooperation results in improved service delivery.

    Essential:

    • Extensive experience in delivering repairs/voids service for social housing.
    • Detailed Knowledge and understanding of pre and post-inspection processes, building pathology and repairs techniques.

    • Qualifications in Surveying, Construction or Building

    MMP Consultancy are currently seeking a Fire Risk Assessor for a local authority based in East London on an interim contract, undertaking Risk Assessments to social housing properties. £345 per day Inside IR35.

    Will require an on-site presence between office, site and home.

    MMP Consultancy currently has an opportunity for a Property Surveyor (Damp & Mould) to join a Local Authority in East London.

    Title: Property Surveyor (Damp & Mould)
    Rate: £350 Per Day
    Location: East London

    Job Purpose:
    To be responsible for a specific work stream within the Asset Management team, providing a professional housing surveying service for the repair, maintenance, improvement and re-servicing of council owned, managed and leased stock in accordance with our clients policies and procedures, providing an effective responsive repair, planned maintenance and project management service for the organisation.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • The post holder reports to the either the Major Works & Voids Manager or the Disrepair & Special Projects Manager.
    • The post holder, depending on the team speciality, will be responsible for special projects, disrepair, estate improvement, asbestos management and minor works OR reactive and planned repairs, voids and fire damage.
    • The post holder will take the lead in areas for which the team is responsible and will include coaching other members of the team.
    • The post holder may be required to work evenings, weekends and occasional public holidays, in order to ensure consultation and service requirements are met.


    Key Tasks:

    Key tasks and accountabilities are intended to be a guide to the range and level Qf work expected of the 'post holder. This is not an exhaustive list of all tasks that may fall to the post holder and employees will be expected to carry out such other reasonable duties which may be required from time to time.

    To deputise for the Major Works & Voids Manager or the Disrepair & Special Projects Manager in the management of services for the entire Housing Property Services.

    • To establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders and partners and any other agency or department, so as to provide an effective and efficient service.

    • To affect the leaks procedure, including liaising with the Legal Section to initiate enforcement action.
    • To assist with the contract documentation for invitations to tender, examine tenders and recommend contractors for appointment, using expert knowledge.
    • To act as client in relation to technical consultants, challenging practices and costs where necessary
    • To prepare project programmes, structural reports, feasibility studies, scheme specifications and tenders for capital and revenue programme schemes, including environmental works. To manage small project teams that involves other stakeholders within the council.
