MMP Consultancy currently has an opportunity for a Surveying Project Manager to join a housing association based out of Birmingham.

This will be a permanent position paying £50,547.76 P/A - £54,813.54 P/A (Plus Benefits £1,800 car allowance)

The Role:

  • To deliver the surveying function for the Planning & Commissioning Team
  • To assist the Head of Asset Management to deliver the planned and cyclical programme contracts ensuring they deliver value for money and high customer satisfaction.
  • To assist the Head of Asset Management in the management and control of programme budgets and expenditure.
  • To ensure that effective Health and Safety policies and procedures are in place to promote a culture of high Health and Safety standards.
  • Promote and maintain a culture which places customers first and aims to deliver a high standard of service.
  • To undertake investment options appraisals and validate stock condition surveys on the organisation's properties and communal areas, collecting information with regards to stock condition, age, repairs and remaining life of building components

Job Purpose:

  • To support the delivery of the planned and cyclical programmes and services and Asset Management Strategy. Including supporting officers within the Assets team.
  • To produce technical advice, survey data, progress reports, quotes, tenders, material specifications, monthly budget statements and provide diagnostic advice as required.
  • To produce specifications, schedules of work and cost schedules as required.
  • To validate and undertake condition surveys, HHSRS surveys and DDA audits on internal and external domestic properties.
  • To advise on conditions relating to property condition, providing solutions to property issues and informing future programme of works.
  • Pro-actively ensure that any underperformance or service failure is addressed to ensure that programme targets and operational KPI's are met.
  • Understand, analyse and act upon all aspects of customer feedback and my clients performance relating to your programme delivery.
  • To deal with any complaints regarding the planned and cyclical programmes.
  • To attend meetings on behalf of my clients both internally and externally as required including liaising with other teams and external agencies at a senior level.

Health and Safety

  • Deliver effective management and monitoring of health and safety on site. Ensure the clear demonstration of compliance with all relevant regulations, ACOPS and guidance to meet our legal and moral obligations within the designated programmes for delivery.
  • To carry out initial assessments in respect of asbestos and re-inspection of known asbestos containing materials.

Managing Contractors / Onsite works

  • To manage and monitor the use and performance of main contractors and sub-contractors including site inspections, costs, value for money and customer satisfaction.
  • To manage external Contractors and programme works allocated to the Maintenance team in line with contract management procedures and subject to any specific contract requirements.
  • To ensure that all on site works are managed effectively, maximising the use of resources.
  • To carry out other surveys e.g. DDA surveys, to update my clients asset register and assist in preparing schedules for service charges for renewal, repair and maintenance.
  • To arrange access with residents and liaise with contractors and other stakeholders as necessary.

Title: Property Surveyor (Damp & Mould)
Rate: £350 Per Day
Location: East London

Job Purpose:
To be responsible for a specific work stream within the Asset Management team, providing a professional housing surveying service for the repair, maintenance, improvement and re-servicing of council owned, managed and leased stock in accordance with our clients policies and procedures, providing an effective responsive repair, planned maintenance and project management service for the organisation.

Key Accountabilities:

  • The post holder reports to the either the Major Works & Voids Manager or the Disrepair & Special Projects Manager.
  • The post holder, depending on the team speciality, will be responsible for special projects, disrepair, estate improvement, asbestos management and minor works OR reactive and planned repairs, voids and fire damage.
  • The post holder will take the lead in areas for which the team is responsible and will include coaching other members of the team.
  • The post holder may be required to work evenings, weekends and occasional public holidays, in order to ensure consultation and service requirements are met.


Key Tasks:

Key tasks and accountabilities are intended to be a guide to the range and level Qf work expected of the 'post holder. This is not an exhaustive list of all tasks that may fall to the post holder and employees will be expected to carry out such other reasonable duties which may be required from time to time.

To deputise for the Major Works & Voids Manager or the Disrepair & Special Projects Manager in the management of services for the entire Housing Property Services.

  • To establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders and partners and any other agency or department, so as to provide an effective and efficient service.
  • To undertake Health & Safety inspections and evaluate outcomes for the whole team, and ensure any works necessary are carried out.
  • To ensure that day-to-day and responsive repairs, including the appointment diaries, are managed and executed to provide both a good service to the customer as well as ensuring value for money. To effectively monitor and control expenditure against budget and to provide statistical analysis. To liaise directly with the council's preferred contractors.
  • To ensure that all works are supervised and undertaken in accordance with contract specifications, London Borough of Newham's procedures, Health &
  • Safety (including gas safety) Regulations and the Control of Asbestos Regulations
  • 2012.
  • To affect the leaks procedure, including liaising with the Legal Section to initiate enforcement action.
  • To assist with the contract documentation for invitations to tender, examine tenders and recommend contractors for appointment, using expert knowledge.
  • To act as client in relation to technical consultants, challenging practices and costs where necessary
  • To prepare project programmes, structural reports, feasibility studies, scheme specifications and tenders for capital and revenue programme schemes, including environmental works. To manage small project teams that involves other stakeholders within the council.
  • To maintain records and contribute to the development and maintenance of a comprehensive stock database via regular stock condition surveys and or H&S inspections and make recommendations as necessary

MMP Consultancy currently have an opportunity for a Building Surveyor to join a Local Authority based out of Hampshire.

This will be a temporary position paying £27 P/H Umbrella on a 6-9 Month Contract

The Role:

You will carry out a wide range of duties across our varied 15,000 housing stock, together with our asset portfolio of corporate operational, commercial and community assets including schools. You will predominantly be attending day to day repairs, updating stock data, evaluating, and diagnosing what work is required, assessing the best options to carry out the work and issuing response repairs.

Job Purpose:

  • You will be based at one of our area housing offices working as part of a building repairs team supporting the Building Repairs Manager's. You will be part of the repairs management team; previous management experience is not essential and you will be supported to develop your skills and gain managing experience using the 'Systems Thinking' methodology.
  • You will be part of a team responsible for providing a building repair and voids service ensuring that it is undertaken in accordance with our NEC3 term service contract including all contractor payments and undertaking all appropriate audits.
  • The team assists us in meeting our purposes which are, to maintain and improve our properties, ensure the right repair is carried out at the right time and provide suitable homes when needed.
  • You will be surveying our assets, updating stock data, assessing the condition of our assets, evaluating and diagnosing what work is required, assessing the best options to carry out the work, issuing repairs and managing a varied range of planned repair projects. We maintain a varied housing stock including a diverse range of corporate, operational, commercial and community assets.
  • Repair projects that you may carry out and supervise include decorations to external and communal areas, cladding, fire upgrading work, window replacement, re-roofing, electrical work, extensions, and structural repairs.
  • The value of individual projects you will be responsible for managing will be up to £50,000, although typically you will undertake schemes that will have a contract value of £15,000. You will support and deputise for the Building Repairs Manager to ensure the building repairs team have capacity to effectively manage all demands received by utilising all the resources available including developing apprentices and surveyors.
  • You will manage apprentices and/or surveyors supporting the team to provide a repairs service including support management of day to day repairs, DFG works, GRA assets, complaints and legal claims, You will liaise with customers and stakeholders regarding the repairs and maintenance service, investigating complaints and disrepair claims as appropriate. Stakeholders include residents, leaseholders, local councillors, building users and other section heads and you will have responsibility for managing the repairs service and developing relationships with specific delegated stakeholders.
  • You will manage the repairs and maintenance of the assets you are responsible for and ensure that we have accurate stock data information as appropriate. You will assess the condition of the assets, use measures to assess the effectiveness of the service, identify planned maintenance projects and prioritise demands to inform planned programmes of work..

MMP Consultancy currently has an opportunity for a Disrepair Surveyor to join a housing association based in Wiltshire/Hampshire.

This will be a permanent position paying £48,065.00 P/A Plus Benefits

The Role:

  • The role will cover Wiltshire and Hampshire, so candidates will need to be suitably based for this. They will be used to completing property inspections and that is the crux of this role.
  • The main focus of this role is to complete damp and mould and disrepair surveys, identifying building defects, and completing any further investigations to accurately diagnose and rectify any faults including damp remediation.
  • this will involve specifying works for our DLO as well as managing contractors to ensure all works are completed to a high standard and in good time.
  • They will need to produce high quality condition reports of each property that our solicitors can rely on in court and be willing to appear in court as a witness if required.
  • This role will also involve supporting our team of Response Surveyors by completing comprehensive damp investigations in problematic properties, providing advice and training to other members of the team and handling complaints.
  • An expertise in building pathology and experience in damp investigations will be a big asset in this role as would excellent customer care skills to help us manage these difficult cases.
  • They won't be alone; they'll be working with two other Disrepair Surveyors and between them will complete surveys across the group.
  • We are looking to base this role in Hampshire/Wiltshire, however there may be a requirement to travel further into our operating regions which include, Dorset, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall.
  • Strong working knowledge of Disrepair legislation, the Landlord Tenancy act 1985, Homes for Habitation and HHSRS assessments. Skills & Abilities.

This role can be offered on an Interim basis for 6-9 Months paying £32 P/H Umbrella

The Role:

  • To provide an enhanced level of technical assistance and expertise within the Maintenance Team to include surveying of properties, preparation of specifications and schedules, as instructed.
  • To carry out and oversee procurement of works in accordance with my clients policies
  • Maintain a scrutiny on works in progress ensuring that work conforms to current regulations and specifications.
  • Provide the appropriate level of support in the supervision, training and management of staff.

Job Purpose:

  • Undertake surveys of properties in relation to responsive and planned maintenance as appropriate. Compile and submit all necessary information/orders within the prescribed time scales.
  • Where appropriate establish programmes of work ensuring that repairs arising are carried out in accordance with priorities and with the minimum of delay and inconvenience to the tenant/leaseholder/owner.
  • Deal with enquiries and complaints made by customers, advise and deal sympathetically with them, ensuring adequate consultation and liaison.
  • Respond to complaints and members enquiries within prescribed time scales and produce reports and place all appropriate orders as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of all surveys and inspections including dates and relevant observations and instructions given at the time and in accordance with recognised procedures.

Building Safety Manager

Up to £372 per day Umbrella

MMP Consultancy currently have an opportunity for a Building Safety Manager to join a local authority based in Westminster. My client is looking for a skilled and experienced Building Safety Manager to lead the compliance and safety efforts for the council's high-risk residential buildings. This pivotal role supports the Principal Building Safety Manager in ensuring adherence to the Building Safety Act 2022 and fostering a strong culture of building safety across the organisation. This will be an interim position paying £372p/d Umbrella.

This role will include hybrid working.

Job Purpose:

Main Responsibilities:

Preparation of and submitting Building Assessment Certificate (BAC) applications for my clients high-risk buildings.

Liaison with Building Safety Regulator.

Liaison with internal council teams, contractors and consultants to ensure compliance.

Provide support for the Principal Building Safety Manager to meet all requirements of the Building Safety Act 2022.

Work closely with the Fire Safety Team to ensure compliance across all high risk buildings

Work closely with the Development Team on all new high risk buildings and to ensure we are maintaining the Golden Thread of Information

Carry out building inspections for high risk buildings reporting back to the business defects and improvement works required.

Where required, to produce/manage/contribute in the production of client briefs for the procurement of fire improvement works, resulting from the building safety inspections.

Provide competent advice to other internal departments regarding building safety, policy, and procedures, working with them to enhance building safety culture.

Where required, provide support through the building control, planning and / or listed building consent process.

Attend residents meetings where required to engage and highlight building safety within our high-risk buildings.

Key Duties:

  • Produce detailed building safety case reports in order to apply for Building Assessment Certificates
  • Provide timely and accurate reports to the Principal Building Safety Manager
  • Carry out building inspections to confirm level of risk and necessary actions to be taken have been captured accurately and articulated appropriately to colleagues across the organisation.
