Job Description

Job Title: Building Services Technician (Mechanical)

Location: Southall UB1

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday: 8 - 4:30) Duration: 6 months on going

Rate: £27 an hour (Umbrella)

Responsibilities:

* To work in accordance with the requirements of HTMs, Gas Safety Regulations and other Mechanical Engineering plant and services guidance.
* Carry out authorised and competent person duties as HTMs and Gas Safety Regulations requirements as part of the line management safety for all London sites.
* Assist the external authorising engineer (Heating, Ventilation and Gas) in the management of in-house and outsourced mechanical and engineering installations.
* To provide supervision and training where required to other estates staff and contractors as HTMs.
* To provide cover to work in accordance with the requirements of HTMs the mechanical safety guidance for low voltage systems.
* Work closely with the Estates Senior Management team and estates staff to supervise the working practices of all mechanically qualified staff and contractors to ensure the
* Heating, Ventilation and Gas Safety policy and associated management procedures are strictly adhered to.
* Diagnose, repair, and service mechanical faults in mechanical systems and associated plant, equipment and services. Heating, ventilation, air conditioning plant and controls, catering equipment, gas installations and various other plant and machinery.
* Assist in the management and delivery of new works, mechanical and gas planned preventative maintenance systems and maintenance contracts.
Carry out new works, reactive, routine and planned preventative maintenance requests.
* Act as pivotal central point for estate maintenance enquiries, requests and advice.
* Maintain effective working relationships; maintain key partnerships within the CEF Department Trust wide along with other key Trust wide personnel to obtain consistency wherever possible, in addition to liaison where appropriate with external bodies.

Qualifications and Skills:

* NHC or HND in related field.
* Recognised mechanical or gas apprenticeship or other approved training scheme plus relevant experience plus City & Guilds certificate or NVQ Level 3.
* Gas Safe commercial and domestic.
* AP for relevant engineering systems.
* Driving License to work across other sites.
