Job Description

Job Title: Electrician

Location: Kingston upon Thames KT2

Hours: 4 on 4 off - 6:30 AM - 5:30 PM

Rate: £20 - £24 an hour

Responsibilities:

* In support of the Electrical Supervisor to ensure the day-to-day efficient and safe working of all plumbing and mechanical plant on site.
* Carry out routine Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) of electrical plant as directed by the Electrical Supervisor.
* To attend to plant and plumbing faults and breakdowns to carry out repairs and restore the units to service as quickly and efficiently as possible.

* To fault find on electric motors and associated control gear. * Perform reactive, routine, and preventative maintenance and testing
* To activate changeover of plant and or its safe isolation in the event of a malfunction or a breakdown.
* Able to carry out minor mechanical work such as connection/disconnection of belt drives, pulley and direct drive couplings.
* To disable/enable the fire alarm system under hot work permits and informs the switchboard.
* To efficiently diagnose and repair faults in electrical installations, plant and equipment; to deal with new situations as they arise and to pass on knowledge to others.
* To report all defects on all items of equipment and any potential hazardous risk to their Electrical Supervisor.
* Use of the Trust issued mobile device (smart phone) or computer to manage all Planned and Reactive work to ensure that status, work time and allocation is correctly recorded.


Qualifications and Skills:

* Recognised traditional or modern apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering.
* Formal apprenticeship or craft trained equivalent.
* Recognised traditional or modern apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering. * Is conversant with LPHW and LP Steam Heating Systems.
* Experience in fault finding and installation on building electrical services.
* Driving License
* Experience working in a healthcare/NHS environment
* Experience in fault finding and installation on building electrical services.
* Have some experience of large industrial boiler plant.

    MMP Consultancy are looking for a Fire Safety Coordinator to join an excellent Local Authority in South London on a temporary basis.
    Purpose Of Job.
    To share responsibility to administer and manage the fire risk assessment programme for all relevant buildings within the borough, including inspection programmes, to ensure compliance is achieved and at all times ensuring adherence to the Council's legal and mandatory obligations.
    Key Responsibilities:
    * To develop and manage overall programme and manage the collation of compliance actions derived from annual visits.
    * To manage and administer the programme of fire risk assessments and other fire safety related matters ensuring we meet our legal obligation at all times. This will include managing the fire safety surveyor's visits and prioritising actions to ensure the business needs are met.
    * Responsible for recording and evidencing compliance with the Council's legal obligations under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Manage workloads of Fire Surveyors to ensure maximum use of resources.
    * Manage existing IT systems and develop new where and when required. Responsible for regular reviews to ensure that they remain fit for purpose in accordance with legislation and any subsequent legal amendments.
    * Provide regular reports to senior management of levels of compliance, highlighting areas of concern and developing remedial actions to mitigate any risks.
    * Responsible for managing and reporting on data from fire risk assessments and compiling risk actions to other business units and departments, including target and date setting.
    * Responsible for monitoring and updating fire databases, ensuring information flow to other corporate systems such as APEX.
    * Responsible for liaising with external health and safety bodies including HSE and London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority to mitigate risks and provide service improvements.
