Job Description

MMP Consultancy currently have an opportunity for a Head of Compliance & Safety Servicing to join a Housing Association based in Bristol.

This will be a permanent position paying £65,000-£70,000 P/A Plus benefits.

Primary Job Function:

  • You will be responsible for the leadership and management of our end-to-end Landlord Cyclical Compliance Programme.
  • You will lead in the management and successful ongoing development of a process that will ensure that the organisation maintains 100% compliance in respect of property functions: including Fire, Gas, Electricity, Legionella, Asbestos, and LOLER.
  • You will be managing relationships with both inhouse colleagues and external contractors to ensure safe and timely delivery of our Landlord Health and Safety Compliance.
  • You will be responsible for the direct management of colleagues and a budget, and the production of detailed and accurate reports to the senior leadership team and Board.
  • Working with the Housing Services Team, the Homes Repairs Service, our assets team, and external contractors, you will build strong collaborative relationships to achieve compliance targets

.Role Duties:

  • Leading on the effective management of statutory compliance, ensuring all regulatory and legislative responsibilities for gas, electrical, asbestos, fire safety, legionella, water, and lifts are delivered.
  • Facilitating transition of compliance responsibilities from Housing Management to the Housing Repairs Service Team, and in the process leading the embedding of changes to process to improve efficiency and effectiveness of programme delivery.
  • Leading on the development of the compliance schedule creating programmes on a pre-emptive cycle to ensure that the business remains compliant.
  • Critically evaluating compliance information and KPIs in order to produce regular assurance reports covering all areas of compliance performance, processes, procedures, and statutory responsibilities.
  • Developing compliance policies and procedures in line with legislation and industry best practice
  • Ensuring that my clients landlord compliance responsibilities are complied with in respect of properties where there is no maintenance responsibility.
  • Managing relevant budgets in respect of compliance activities and preparing future estimated expenditure for compliance programmes and work activities
  • Collaborating as a member of the Operational Leadership Team, working with senior colleagues to influence, shape and deliver the corporate strategy

This will be an interim position paying £41.90 P/Hour Umbrella on a 6-9 Month contract (36 hours per week) with the option to be extended.

Primary Job Function:

MMP Consultancy currently have an opportunity for a Building Safety Manager to join a local authority based in Hampshire. This will be a permanent position paying £46,000 P/A Plus Benefits.

Job Purpose:

  • To take responsibility for coordination and management of all matters relating to structural and fire safety in in-scope buildings to meet current and forthcoming legislative requirements.
  • To deliver the regulatory requirements of the Building Safety Act and Fire Safety Act to provide an effective and efficient building safety service to my clients Higher Risk Buildings and ensure compliance with and implementing the required changes detailed in building safety legislation.
  • To oversee the safe management of SCC high-rise (and/or higher risk) residential buildings within the Housing Management building stock. (The council currently has 21 buildings over 18 metres & a number of high-risk buildings)
  • To oversee the implementation of controls in respect of structural and fire safety on a day-to-day basis.
  • To effectively manage safety within the designated in-scope blocks to which the role relates.
  • To ensure that controls are implemented in respect of building work carried out in the in-scope blocks to which the role relates.
  • To engage with colleagues who are responsible for managing projects undertaken within the in-scope buildings.
  • To assist with the development and implementation of Building Safety Cases being prepared by the fire safety team, and to ensure their effective maintenance and management post-implementation.
  • To manage resident engagement within high-rise and/or higher-risk in-scope buildings, particularly in ensuring that safety concerns are recorded, monitored, and dealt with appropriately.
  • To ensure that planned, preventive maintenance is carried out within the in-scope blocks to which the role relates.
  • To engage with relevant Housing Management staff to ensure that roles are performed effectively in accordance with the Corporate Fire Safety Policy.
  • To oversee the successful implementation of corrective actions arising from fire risk assessments and audits.
  • To ensure that facilities for use by the fire and rescue service are effectively managed and maintained.
  • To perform any other reasonable tasks that ensure the effective management of premises for which the role is responsible, to the fulfilment of our customer service objectives and in compliance with the Fire Safety Legislation.
  • Support the Fire Safety Lead in delivering our strategic objectives, by driving business improvement and regulatory compliance within the Safer Homes function.

MMP Consultancy is seeking for a new Project Manager (Regeneration and Investment) to join one of my clients in East London. This Opportunity would be on a permanent contract paying up to £375 Per Day

* Oversee the procurement of contracts to deliver the Regeneration and Investment Programme ensuring Best Value in their commissioning and provision.
* Identify, commit and control all financial expenditure associated with the major works contracts managed by the Project Team.
* Lead and develop the project team in the provision of a full range of technical consultant and project management functions.
* Ensure that all schemes are completed in accordance within Investment Programme, Business Plan and Service targets.
* Involve all residents in the investment process.
* Deputise for the Head of Regeneration and strategy as directed.
* Assist in the development, implementation and review of our clients procurement and investment strategy in accordance with best practice.
* Identify investment needs through the use of stock condition information and provide technical solutions to address such needs.
* Advise the Senior Management Team and the our clients board and sub committee on major works issues.
